Ukko Agro was founded by people who are passionate about making farming more profitable and sustainable. Ukko operates at the intersection of plant science and data science. We are proud to bring the amazing work of the agricultural research community into the hands of ag-input retailers, farmers, agronomists and crop consultants using data science. Ukko Agro’s vision is to link each and every action on the farm to its economic outcome, enabling retailers and farmers to make more informed and data-driven decisions for farm-wide operations.
In addition to the dedicated team at Ukko Agro, we are fortunate to be supported by world renowned plant scientists, plant pathologists, and crop modellers from leading universities across the world, as well as industry veterans from leading global companies as advisors.
In 2022, UKKO featured:
- 700+ proprietary weather stations in place
- 12 retail organizations and 2 chemical companies using the system, serving 300+ farms
- 400,000 acres modelled plus 1,700,000 acres mapped
- Generated insights across 10 provinces and states
- Daily active farms peaked as high as 78% during key decision times, meaning farmers are actively using ForeSite in season to assist in making informed decisions
- UKKO currently offers proprietary filed adaptive models for five crops (wheat, soybeans, canola, corn, potatoes), with more on the way
- UKKO’s in-house capabilities include Applied Agriculture Research and Data Science, Software Design and Development, Customer Success, and Sales/Finance
- UKKO’s Scientific Advisory Board includes 5 leading plant pathology, agriculture system modelling and atmospheric sciences researchers from University of Florida, Cornell University, and Kansas State University, as well as consulting agreements with other independent agri researchers
